Can I connect a Web service (on Java platform) with SAP or SIEBEL?
Yes. In fact, that's the beauty of Web services. It enables integration across platforms, transport protocols and applications. That means you can quickly assemble loosely coupled systems that are highly adaptive to changing business conditions. One of the major differences between Web services and previous attempts at distributed computing is the widespread industry adoption of Web services standards. Virtually every enterprise application vendor has, at minimum, announced its Web services strategy. SAP has launched Web services-enabled products and Siebel 7.5 comes with a Web services interface. When looking to integrate older applications and legacy systems, you might have to build your own Web services interface.
