UDDI clients and UDDI implementations

Anne Thomas Manes explains the differences between open source clients and open source implementations.

What is the difference between open source implementations and open source clients?
This is a follow-up question to a previous question about open source UDDI options. A UDDI implementation is a UDDI-compliant registry service, i.e., a Web service that implements the UDDI specification and exposes its capabilities through the UDDI API. A UDDI client is a client library or tool that interacts with a UDDI-compliant registry service.
