When developing an app which is better : .NET and C# or VB.NET

What is the difference between a Web service that was developed using .NET and C# and an application that was developed using VB.NET? Both are used as an interface to access MS MapPoint. Which is better?

There is no difference as far as the interfaces are concerned, all leverage Web services. The selection of the language and tool depends on your requirements, and the skill sets of the developers you have in your organization.
