Easy-to-use deployment automation tool from Automic Software

Version 11.2 of Automic Release Automation (ARA), also referred to as continuous delivery, is on-premises or cloud-based application release automation software. By using ARA, development and operations teams are able to automate the deployment pipeline from development to production across all environments in order to promote and reject versions, enact automatic rollback of changes when needed, and monitor environments from a single platform. It also provides release-pipeline orchestration and automated infrastructure-provisioning capabilities. The intent of Automic Software Inc. with ARA is to create a more easily orchestrated and centrally managed deployment pipeline.

ARA automates the software development, test, deployment and release-to-production lifecycle, as well as provides self-service capabilities for infrastructure and application provisioning. It works across all environments by extending development toolchains -- most notably, ServiceNow, HP Quality Center, Remedy, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and OpenStack.

Typically, ARA is integrated with continuous integration servers and automated testing products, as well as IT management stacks that are used in operations, such as service management platforms, change management and other IT management tools.

ARA's core is a zero-code modeling capability that abstracts environment and application architectures to create generic deployment plans and automation workflows. These plans work across any private or public cloud, including on-premises environments. This model serves to bridge environment differences, such as disparate operating systems, different machine configurations, credentials and security, to name a few.

ARA's self-service capability lets IT staff automate and provide application environments to development and test teams on demand.

ARA provides the user interface and modeling capabilities specifically engineered for release and deployment automation. It also provides central monitoring, reporting and smart wizard functionality.

ARA is often identified and classified as application release automation, deployment automation, application orchestration, application-ready infrastructure provisioning and full-stack provisioning.

The software is based on the Automic One Automation platform, a multi-tenant and scalable automation engine that automates millions of concurrent tasks, as well as supports a wide spectrum of operating systems and cloud environments.

ARA comes with a large set of built-in integrations and plug-ins, and is integrated with Automic's online marketplace, a Web portal for users to contribute and search for automation content packs from Automic Software and the Automic community. ARA supports more than 26 different operating systems, including Windows, Unix and Linux, as well as mainframe and AS/400.

Automic's deployment automation tool is tailored for midsize organizations in all industry verticals. It relies on bundled pricing for specific products that scale on nodes and can be purchased directly from Automic. A preview version is available.
