TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 6.2 lets developers connect applications either on-premises or in the cloud to unify business processes across applications, data sources and APIs.
Classified as an application integration product and enterprise service bus platform, developers use ActiveMatrix to integrate and manage data by connecting applications using a library of prebuilt connectors. ActiveMatrix uses a no-code graphical Eclipse integrated development environment that includes a wizard-driven resource configuration, which allows developers to connect applications by dropping resources from a set of palettes into an integration window instead of writing code.
Integration processes and other components can be packaged into modules and reused to maintain process execution consistency. Global variables allow configurations to be updated at runtime without redeploying or regenerating archives.
A large library of connectors allows developers to invoke the functionalities of on-premises or cloud applications and social networks. Web APIs and services are exposed using REST. Built-in Web testing and documenting eliminates the need to manually document services and allows developers to test new services in a few steps.
Operations teams can automate and control ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks through a set of commands or the Web interface to deploy and manage the integration processes using a scalable architecture. Operations teams can link the platform to continuous integration infrastructures such as Maven or Jenkins via a set of scriptable commands that saves time infrastructure and process reuse.
Using a command line or a Web interface, ActiveMatrix engines can be spun across as many machines as required. A browser interface gives administrators visibility into the distributed architecture and allows operations teams to see the details of each component. The distributed architecture can be made fault-tolerant and highly available through configuration, without additional hardware or software. When managed by TIBCO Silver Fabric, ActiveMatrix becomes a totally elastic and automated platform that runs on pooled physical, virtual or cloud resources.
ActiveMatrix includes TIBCO Enterprise Message Service, which is middleware messaging for secure real-time data distribution between applications including Web, mobile, cloud and packaged offerings. It also includes TIBCO API Exchange (in the cloud, this is TIBCO Cloud API Exchange), an API management ecosystem that includes service providers. Another capability of ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks is TIBCO connectors, used for connecting to Web, mobile or packaged applications. It also provides a set of integration technology add-ons including, messaging, API management, business process management, master data management, event processing and analytics that deliver the Fast Data Platform.
ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks is considered the foundation of a suite of TIBCO integration and analysis products. It is tightly coupled with TIBCO Spotfire analytics, TIBCO master data management and TIBCO events processing products.
ActiveMatrix runs on Windows, Mac and UNIX and is used by organizations of all sizes. It is available both on-premises and in the cloud.
TIBCO offers a variety of pricing options including perpetual on-premises and cloud subscription-based licenses. On-premises licensing is based on the number of processors. Cloud-based pricing is based on the number of connections. A full-featured, 30-day trial version is available.
The platform is sold both direct and through 300 channel resellers.
Various tiers of support are available based on customer needs.
