Sonic Software passes Sun's Java compatibility test

Bedford, Mass.-based middleware company Sonic Software, Inc. has announced its message-oriented middleware product, SonicMQ 4.0, passed the Compatibility Test Suite for Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) version 1.3 as integrated with Sun Microsystems' Reference Implementation.

Based on the Java Message Service (JMS) API, SonicMQ provides global organizations with scalable, standards-based Internet middleware for the secure delivery of business data across the extended enterprise. Sonic Software specializes in reliable interoperability of software applications within and across enterprises based on Web services and Internet messaging standards.

MODCOMP joins BEA Star Program

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based enterprise application integration firm MODCOMP, Inc., a subsidiary of CSP, Inc., has joined BEA Systems, Inc.'s Star Partner Program. ViewMax, MODCOMP's middleware server, extends the legacy connectivity capabilities of BEA's WebLogic J2EE application server.

As part of the program, MODCOMP's business solutions division gains greater access to WebLogic. The new partnership also offers MODCOMP's enterprise clients a controlled and measured migration from legacy systems to new Web-enabled technology. Current U.S. and U.K. users of ViewMax include Cornell University, ITT Industries Night Vision, Rover Group, Philips Consumer Electronics, Inghams Travel and Churchill Insurance.

Nimble publishes data integration white paper

Nimble Technology, a Seattle, Wash.-based software company, has published a white paper examining the data integration issues currently faced by enterprise IT departments. The paper was partially influenced by Nimble's work with the XML Query Working Group of the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium), and by its Nimble Integration Suite.

The Nimble Integration Suite is an XML-based enterprise data integration platform used to power Web services and applications. The suite was built to focus on key data integration platform requirements including a distributed architecture, real-time data availability, open standards support and secure personalization.

Flamenco Networks Establishes Partnership Program

Flamenco Networks, a provider of software that reduces the cost of Web services and accelerates Web services-based integration projects, has announced the creation of a partner program and identified thirteen new alliances with companies such as Cape Clear Software, IBM, Oracle and Sun Microsystems.

The Flamenco Network is a Web Services Network that provides security, reliability, connection provisioning, streaming, metering, billing, and other management services necessary for implementing enterprise-class Web services.

The Flamenco Networks partner program features three categories: platforms and tools providers, integration consultants, and technology partners. The program is designed to combine the components required to develop and implement Web services into a comprehensive solution for Flamenco customers.
