Parasoft tool tests for WS-I conformance

SOAPtest 2.5 from Parasoft Inc. simplifies use of the WS-I's Basic Profile 1.0 testing tools.

Parasoft Inc. of Monrovia, Calif., announced Wednesday the availability of Parasoft SOAPtest 2.5, software that tests the conformance of Web services to the WS-I's Basic Profile 1.0.

Parasoft develops automated error prevention software that developers can use to detect and eliminate programming errors.

SOAPtest 2.5 includes Testing Tools 1.0 that verify whether the Web Services Description Language and SOAP traffic meets the WS-I's Basic Profile 1.0. WS-I released its testing tools Wednesday, completing its development of the Basic Profile.

Parasoft is a WS-I member and contributor to the WS-I Testing Tools Working Group.

SOAPtest, meanwhile, adds to the usability of the testing tools by eliminating the need to set up the WS-I's Monitor tool and configuration files that work in conjunction with its message Analyzer. By functioning as both the Monitor and the Analyzer, SOAPtest is able to verify both WSDLs and SOAP traffic for conformance to Basic Profile 1.0 without any configuration files. The only required input to SOAPtest is the WSDL URL. SOAPtest produces WS-I conformance reports that can be viewed directly in a Web browser, Parasoft said.

SOAPtest 2.5 runs on Windows 2000/XP, Linux and Solaris. Pricing starts at: $3995.
