It's everything you ever wanted to know about Web services you were afraid to ask.
Following up on its Web Services Foundation Course that debuted at Comdex last Fall, IONA Technologies announced a series of training sessions called Discover Web Services to be held around the country on dates to be announced.
Discover Web Services is a day-long education opportunity for enterprise technology executives that demonstrates the value of Web services strategies. Speakers include Dr. Sean Baker, chief corporate scientist and IONA co-founder, and Eric Newcomer, IONA chief technology officer.
The course will examine numerous topics including Web services standards. Technologies covered will be XML, SOAP, WSDL, UDDI, demonstrations of popular Web services development toolkits such as XMLspyÒ and Visual StudioÒ, an introduction to Service Oriented Architecture, Web services best practices and Web services future directions.
Newcomer will preside over the next Web Services Foundation session May 11 in New York City at the East Side Marriott hotel.
"The hype around Web services distracts from the real benefits that enterprises are realizing now from the technology," said Newcomer in a statement. "This Web Services Foundation Course, with its equal emphases on business and technology issues, gives participants an opportunity to cut through all of the hype and learn how to best incorporate Web services into their IT strategies for 2004 and the future."
