Realm Systems LLC is trying to force a change in how personal computing devices are managed by enterprises moving into Web services.
The company's new Service Oriented Business Architecture platform, which will be demonstrated during the upcoming Networld+Interop show, enables remote users to access enterprise applications via Web services. The platform ensures the availability, synchronization and security of applications, the company said in a statement.
Realm's platform includes a business card-size personal server and Web services router. The server is plugged into the USB port on a laptop or PC, secure connections are established and all applications are synchronized from where the user left off.
Web services are extended across the router and applications can be deployed to users in a matter of hours. Updates can also be distributed in a similar fashion.
