Problem: An organization may have tons of information stored, but little good comes from it if a company can't process it easily. The majority of big data platforms allow for sharing data across multiple machines. If at some point a machine needs to be isolated, Dr. Satya Ramaswamy of Tata Consultancy Services said this can require effort and potentially long downtimes.
Solution: By being conscious of configurations, architects avoid having to redo work to a big data platform. Gartner's Doug Laney said "scaling infrastructure: storage, new/faster/bigger databases, increased computing power, and smarter analytics," can help deal with the sheer volume of information that companies hold in storage.
