Anything that consumes data and pushes data to another source can be integrated with messaging, Snyder said. One project he worked on as a consultant in the energy market used messaging-based system integration. The company needed better system integration for energy traders, and messaging allowed the systems to interface.
"Any kind of disparate systems that cannot talk to each other are decent candidates for [message-based] integration applications," Snyder said, explaining that the message broker goes in between the systems and mitigates the timing requirement. This makes it perfect for loosely coupled systems.
